Financial Aid & Scholarship Resources

The FAFSA is the application you will use to apply for the federal student aid programs offered by the U.S. Department of Education (ED). Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to help pay for college or career school.

PCS offers FAFSA assistance events throughout the school year.  Speak with your counselor or visit your College and Career Center to learn more. 

The Florida Financial Aid Application, or FFAA, is required for students that have met eligibility for a Florida Bright Futures Scholarship. 

How to Complete the Florida Financial Aid Application

The CSS Profile may be requested by private colleges or universities. See the college's financial aid webpage to determine if it is required and deadline.

The PCS Financial Aid and Scholarships pages includes additional resources. Included on this site is a regularly updated document outlining a number of scholarships that are currently available.  Look for Scholarship Opportunities for the most up to date listing.  

The Pinellas Education Foundation offers one application for over 130 scholarships that are just for Pinellas County students! Ranging from $500 to $5,000, numerous scholarship opportunities are available to high school graduating seniors.  This application opens Sep. 30 each year and must be completed by Jan. 31.

SPC offers scholarships for students awarded by SPC or individual departments based on financial need or academic achievement. Criteria, amounts, and deadlines vary. Refer to the SPC Scholarships webpage for more information. Some of these scholarships will be awarded to students that apply to SPC as part of their application consideration. Some scholarships require a separate application.

Class of 2025 students who graduate from Northeast High School may be eligible for the SPC Promise Scholarship, which pays full tuition and fees for associates degrees and financial aid eligible certificates. NOTE: The availability of the SPC Promise Scholarship is not yet confirmed for the Class of '26.  

In addition to scholarships awarded by SPC, students should be aware of scholarships offered by the SPC Foundation. With hundreds of scholarships available, you could be eligible to receive funding for tuition, books and supplies. Students must apply for these scholarships by the deadline.  

Institutional (College-Based) Scholarships include merit (academics) scholarships which are typically awarded based on your application profile and do not require an additional application, however some colleges may have a separate application.  Be sure to check each college's Financial Aid and Scholarships webpage for information on how to apply and deadlines. Honors scholarships may require a separate Honors College application. 

Many colleges also have foundations that support their school community with scholarships which may have a separate application.  Search for Foundation Scholarships on each college's webpage.
